Cargo Cult

Cargo Cult is an independent Australian rum brand that blends South Pacific heritage with modern craft. Drawing inspiration from the post-WWII “cargo cults” of Melanesia—communities that revered the mysterious abundance brought by foreign visitors—Cargo Cult channels that spirit of wonder into every bottle.

Their spiced rums are handcrafted in small batches, combining aged molasses-based rums from Papua New Guinea’s Ramu River Valley and the island of Fiji. These are then blended and infused in Australia with natural spices like clove, cinnamon, ginger, vanilla, and cardamom. Notably, Cargo Cult’s rums contain no added sugar, offering a dry, aromatic profile that sets them apart from sweeter counterparts.

The range includes their signature Dry Spiced Rum and the world’s first full-strength Banana Spiced Rum, infused with real Australian bananas . Each expression is designed to be versatile—enjoyed neat, over ice, or mixed with ginger beer, apple juice, or in classic cocktails.

Cargo Cult invites you to explore a rum experience that’s both authentic and adventurous, echoing the legacy of the South Pacific’s rich cultural tapestry.
