Translated as "the red" in Italian, this wine is a contemporary take on the "Super-Tuscan" style, artfully blending Sangiovese and 5% Merlot. The marriage of Sangiovese's savoury notes and Merlot's lush chocolate palate creates a harmonious symphony. Sourced from premier Hilltops vineyards, the fruit was meticulously picked in early April. Following fermentation in open-top vessels, the wine matured for 10 months in French oak barriques. While delightful now, this wine promises evolving complexity over the next 8-10 years, making it a superb companion for classic Italian dishes like pasta or pizza.
