What is SIPSY.?

SIPSY. supports independent beverage producers in getting their products onto shelves efficiently.

Why? Because there’s a boatload of customers and venues wanting to support smaller producers who need a simpler way to access them.

We are proud to work directly with many Australian owned brands because that means your spending dollars stay within the country rather than hitting the bottom line of some multinational. Brand owners and their suppliers also spend their dollars locally, creating a chain of wealth within the Australian market – how good!

We encourage the brands we work with to get in front of their customers and get to know them because how good is telling someone you’ve met the person that made a thing!

  OUR STORY.

Back in 2019, Vic was managing a venue and realised the power of supporting local brands through sharing her discoveries with the team and customers – with this came the hurdle of often running around and picking up stock or struggling to hear back about availability in time. Rowan was in real estate at that point, but had also managed bar venues and knew exactly the problems Vic was facing. 

Wanting to support these brands further, the idea of creating a small portfolio of local producers and acting as a representative for all of them came into play. With our background and passion for hospitality that was always our main focus, wanting to offer a quality service to both our brand clients and the venues we were selling to. Enabling them to showcase and move through local products with the knowledge to back it up. Something we would have very much wanted to be on the receiving end of ourselves.

It seemed to be coming together, so we decided to mull over it with a couple of beers at our local, and that’s how Toast Local was born.

Just a matter of weeks later, lockdown happened..

With hospitality venues forced to close their doors, we shifted our focus to retail, and as hard as that time was for everyone, we’re sort of glad we had that opportunity to learn the retail side of this business in that environment, because boy, it’s a tough battle out there!

Fast-forward three and a half years, and here we are. A liquor licence, a van, a warehouse (+ office not in our dining room!) and now, finally, a website! Not exactly the order you’d expect, and it’s more than we ever thought our little commission rep business would become. We have curated a portfolio of brands and products that we are proud to present. We are excited for this next chapter and glad that you’ve made it this far with us

This next step is a scary one, we’ve worn Toast Local proudly on our shirts for the past three years, but it was time for us as a brand to evolve. We are super passionate about supporting local, but the definition of that is subjective.

SIPSY. is our step towards creating something really special, showcasing these brands and growing our collection even further.
